Latest Autos|FORD 2011 Cars|The Escape can be had with three drivetrain choices, two gas engines and one hybrid drivetrain. The third engine option comes in the form of a hybrid drivetrain that pairs a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-four-cylinder engine with a permanent-magnet electric motor. This advanced powertrain pumps out a combined 177 horsepower and returns the best-in-class city fuel economy of 34 miles per gallon, with a 31 highway rating on the FWD model.
Checking the four-wheel drive option box will bring the fuel economy to 30 city, 27 highway.
2012 Ford E-Series |
The E-Series comes in many forms, starting with the E-150, followed by the E-250 and E-350 Super Duty versions with heavy-duty work in mind. Of course, there are also standard cargo-hauling versions with rear panels instead of windows, as well as the Wagon variants that feature a van full of seats, lined with rear windows. To top it off, most models can also be had in either short- or long-wheelbase versions.
2012 Ford Explorer |
With a road-oriented fully independent suspension and Ford's optional "intelligent" four-wheel-drive system, the Explorer isn't likely to challenge the body-on-frame Toyota 4Runner or similarly unibody-based Jeep Grand Cherokee for off road prowess. Instead, V6 Explorers can be equipped with a terrain management control knob based on former Ford subsidiary Land Rover's similar system. Offering snow, sand, mud and normal modes, the system simply requires a twist of a knob to properly set up the Explorer's all-wheel-drive and stability control systems for various types of terrain. The system will also include a hill descent mode for low-speed off road maneuvers.
2012 Ford Edge |
At first glance it is quite obvious that the new Edge has received a thorough reworking of the entire front fascia, as well as changes to the rear of the vehicle. The new grille immediately brings back memories of the original Ford Sport Trac Adrenaline concept, although with a modern Fusion-esque style. Standard halogen headlamps are gone, replaced with projector headlamps for function and cosmetic appeal HID projectors optional. Below, the traditional fog lamp housings have been replaced with LED light bars, similar to those found on the Taurus SHO or Ford Fiesta.
