Lets Travel | Toyota Cars | The Prius Plug-in Hybrid (ZVW35) is based on a third generation Toyota Prius (model ZVW30) with a a 4.4-kWh lithium-ion battery that allows an all-electric range of 14.3 mi (23 km).A global demonstration program involving 600 pre-production test cars began in late 2009 and is taking place in Japan, Europe, Canada, China, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
The production version was unveiled at the September 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, and sales are scheduled to begin in Japan, the United States and Europe by early 2012. Deliveries scheduled for retail sales in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2012 and will be initially offered in 14 states.Toyota announced that initially it expects to sell 15,000 units a year in the U.S., and retail sales price in that country will start at US$32,000 plus a US$760 delivery fee and before any applicable government incentives.
